The main purpose of the workshop is on the integration of different disciplines e.g. meteorology, air quality, climate and health research in order to get a more holistic view of the interaction between transportation emissions, urban air quality and health but also on urban air quality and climate change. In addition, feedback mechanisms of climate change to urban air quality and the effect of land use changes to the air quality are in the focus of the workshop.
Furthermore, the opportunity shall be used within the Sino-German year of Education and Research, to intensify the scientific and public awareness of air quality problems in the urban area with a prospect to develop joint Sino-German projects.
More and above that, the workshop shall foster, intensify and extend the cooperation between the Chinese and German partners on these issues in order to formulate common proposals and apply for national and international funding.

The workshop will be hosted by LAPC-IAP and take place in Beijing .
